Everton vs Arsenal
The last meeting between these two sides saw Arsenal head straight to the top of the table by a header from Laurent Koscielny. However, Everton are unbeaten against the Gunners in the last 3 matches at Goodison Park.
Arsenal have now gone 3 games without a Premier League victory (D1, L2), whereas the Toffees have only won 1 of their last 8 Premier League matches on home soil.
Everton will be sniffing for a victory against Arsenal especially having knocked Chelsea out of the FA cup last weekend. Arsenal having being knocked out of two competitions within 5 days need to pick themselves up and dust away the cobwebs.
Romelu Lukaku will need to be kept a very close eye on given his recent form- scoring six goals in his last six matches. He is a very strong centre forward which is why he should be matched up with the ruthless and tough Gabriel in replacement of slow Mertesacker.
Welbeck needs to start against Everton given his fine performance on the big stage against Barcelona. He is great in the air, he can strike and he can create chances. At the moment, Giroud is in poor form and should be left on the bench.
Given Arsenals recent form gaining only 10 points out of a possible 27 not many fans are predicting a fine Arsenal display at Goodison tomorrow. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel- Everton have been very inconsistent at home. This may be a good time for the Gunners to play Everton.
If Arsenal display a similar performance to the one we saw earlier this week against Barcelona, then they have a great chance of winning. But they need to turn up tomorrow and give their fans something to cheer about. Arsenal are in a pit and they need to climb out before it is too late for any real chance of silverware this season.
