Arsenal keep the pressure on Tottenham & Leicester

Arsenal kept their faint title hopes alive by thrashing Watford 4-0 at the Emirates this Saturday.

Alexis Sanchez opened up the scoring just 4 minutes into the game assisted by a wonderful cross from Iwobi, forcing Gomez into a save which reflected back to Sanchez who couldn’t miss an open goal.

Brilliant one touch passing between Elneny and Ozil saw a shot from Welbeck tipped away from Gomez to deny Arsenal.

Sanchez picked out an intelligent 5 yard pass to Iwobi as he shot straight into the goal and he was never going to miss from there. A wonderful display from Arsenal on the right but also assisted by Watfords inability to stop Sanchez from going forward.

The second half saw Watford make some alterations to their squad, given their poor performance all afternoon. But Arsenal just added to their woes early in the second half with some great determination down the right between Sanchez and Bellerin, who saw his shot deflected sending Gomez the wrong way.

Iwobi’s confidence was high as he struck the ball from inside the box which forced Gomez into another diving save, but the ball went off the underside of the bar and put wide by Ozil.

Arsenal were in a dominant mood against a distracted Watford side, and were piling on the pressure throughout the entire match.

Watford only managed 2 shots on target one of which Monreal was placed perfectly to head the ball off of the line and the second shot Ospina made a fine save to deny Troy Deeney.

After a short spell of pressure from the Hornets, Arsenal were determined to end the game in style. Ozil picked out a wonderful ball down the left to find Campbell who did brilliantly to get round Watfords defence, picking out Walcott who slips in a simple tap in. Icing on the cake for Arsenal.

A superb display from the Gunners who close the gap on Tottenham to 4 points with one game in hand and a round of appaulase for Iwobi for his second goal in two games & winning two man of the matches.
