Gibbs & Chamberlain/Stuart Macfarlane
Kieran Gibbs is determined to fight for his position at Arsenal, despite reports linking him with a move away from The Emirates.
Gibbs has made only 13 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions this season, as Nacho Monreal is the preferred left back choice for boss Arsene Wenger.
Despite Gibbs lack of involvement in first team matches, the 26-year-old Englishman has revealed that he will not turn his back on the Emirates unless Wenger rules out his long-term prospects.
With just under two years left on Gibb’s contract, Arsenal are expected to hold talks with the left back before the end of the season to decide his future at the club.
The same has been reported for Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, who also has two years left on his contract, although there is a growing list of clubs waiting to sign him.
Currently ruled out of first team action with a leg injury since February, Chamberlain has failed to hold down a regularly starting position at Arsenal.
With the emergence of talented teenager Alex Iwobi, it is becoming less likely that Chamberlain will even get a look in once he returns from injury.
This does not put many top Premier League teams off him though, reports suggest that Southampton are keen to make him their vice captain and their highest paid footballer this season.
Manchester City, West Ham and Chelsea are also keen to sign the English International, if Arsenal does not extend his contract.
